Just when I thought Nick Diaz's return to the grappling world would not end up happening at the World Jiu-Jitsu Expo, May 12, 2012 in Long Beach, California, sure enough his opponent has been announced. According to mmafighting.com, Nick Diaz is meeting Braulio Estima in a superfight. When I first heard Nick was competing in a superfight, I assumed his opponent would be a fellow MMA fighter or mid-tier jiu jitsu black belt. Braulio Estima is neither of those things.
Braulio Estima, the 2009 absolute and 88kg World ADCC champion, is a beast on the mat. He is also a three time Mundial Champion. I never expected such a great superfight at the World Jiu-Jitsu Expo. I thing Nick Diaz is an excellent MMA fighter and is great at sport jiu jitsu, but he will be tested facing a beast such as Braulio Estima.
Braulio's most recent match was a victory on points during a superfight at the 2011 ADCC World Submission Championships vs Ronaldo "Jacare" Souza. Nick hasn't competed in sport Jiu Jitsu for 2 years. This match should be interesting.
